Comfy Curious Exotic

Our 2nd coffee from Alejo Castro! This time we have their red honey anaerobic processed Obata. It's a super funky and loud coffee that tastes like cranberry pie, grapefruit paloma cocktails and a hint of chamomile tea. It's pretty out there and super delicious, certainly one for the curious and adventurous coffee drinker!

Alejo's family farm, Volcan Azul, in the Western Valley region of Costa Rica has won numerous awards for its coffees and drips in coffee history. Alejo is the fifth generation descendent of coffee pioneers Alejo C. Jimenez and Wilehlm Kahle who planted some of the first specialty coffee plantations in the early 1900s. Alejo’s focus for the Volcan Azul farm is to push coffee quality while making a positive impact on the environment.

Brew method:

We roast this coffee light and it is best enjoyed as a filter.

We recommend using a 16:1 water to coffee ratio (for example when using 20 grams of coffee, brew with 320ml of water) and a medium coarse grind.
