September 26th & 27th: Dinner at Alfred's
Alfred’s is back for two special nights at Dose Coffee! Chefs Ivan Blackwell and Alasdair Aitken are bringing back some of Alfred’s most-loved winter dishes, paired with summer favourites like our famous cheese breads.
Enjoy a welcome glass of Prosecco and a five-course menu that celebrates bold flavours, seasonal ingredients, and a touch of nostalgia — all served in the cozy warmth of our downtown café.
The Menu:
- Cheese bread, brown butter, honey, chives
- Finocchiona, pickled fennel, orange vinaigrette, reggiano
- Roasted squash, rosemary pesto, whipped goat’s cheese, buckwheat
- Gnocchi pomodoro, burrata, pine nuts
- Beef cheek spezzatino, brown butter polenta, salsa verde
- Chocolate mousse, maraschino yoghurt, salted caramel, Dose coffee crumb

On Sunday, September 28th, head to the Dose Coffee patio at 1:00 PM and watch Ivan in action as he prepares Alfred’s famous gnocchi from scratch. Learn tips, techniques, and secrets straight from the chef, and get inspired to try this iconic dish in your own kitchen.
