Cascavel Vermelha means red rattlesnake in Portuguese and this coffee is named after the rattlesnakes with beautiful markings that are found in the farms from which this coffee is sourced. The rattlesnakes are known for fiercely defending its territory but they are welcomed on coffee farms as they eat rodents that burrow into coffee root systems or chew through irrigation systems.
It’s the ‘everyday sipper’ on our menu and we use this coffee as our ‘house filter’ in the Dose flagship cafe. A really good down to earth, coffee tasting coffee! It’s big bodied and chocolatey with a splash of red fruit for good measure. We find it really reminds us of red apple. It goes great with milk or cream and is also roasted to be excellent as a chocolatey espresso too! It’s a blend of natural and pulp-natural processed coffees and will be a mainstay on our menu!
