This funky and punchy tropical medley is a natural processed caturra from Francy Castillo of Finca El Uberrimo. Nariño, Colombia.
It reminds us of passion fruit mai tai, cacao nibs and sugar cookies.
Francy and her four sisters grew up helping their parents at the coffee farm, which inspired her to major in Agronomy to provide support and management for the family business. She completed her university degree via distance learning, whilst continuing to work on the farm to fund her studies. After graduating in 2019, she began working at the FNC as a Field Assistant around her hometown of Arboleda, Nariño. She then gained experience in sensory development working at a private export lab in Buesaco. In her own words, "I became even more interested in coffee and day by day I wanted to learn more about the beautiful world of coffee".
We're grateful for Apex for establishing their buying program in Arboleda; which allows roasters like us to be connected to remote small scale coffee producers like Francy, discovering their amazing coffees and sharing them with you!
Brew method:
We roast this coffee light and it is best enjoyed as a filter.
We recommend using a 16:1 water to coffee ratio (for example when using 20 grams of coffee, brew with 320ml of water) and a medium coarse grind.
